New York, NY – Building upon its successful partnership with global elite law firm Allen & Overy LLP (A&O), Maverick Search Consulting has placed Margie Hinckley as the Firm’s new Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer of the Americas in New York.
A&O once again turned to Maverick for executive search services to find world-class talent for their C-suite as part of the Firm’s continued investment in its U.S. operations. Hinckley’s appointment follows last year’s placement, also in New York, of Dennis Quinio as the Firm’s first Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer for the Americas.
In her new role, Hinckley will support A&O’s Americas growth strategy by overseeing business development and marketing initiatives, as well as fostering deep client relationships in the U.S. to augment the overall global business.
Hinckley joins A&O following more than 15 years of service at Ropes & Gray LLP, where she most recently led growth and relationship strategies as Director of Client Development. She steps into this new role at a pivotal stage of growth at A&O, which in May announced a proposed merger with Shearman & Sterling. While pending final firm votes, the merger would, according to Firm leadership, effectively create “the only global firm with U.S. law, English law and local law capabilities in equal measure.”
Hinckley remarked that it is an “inspiring time” to join A&O given the “endless opportunities to show current and prospective clients [the Firm’s] best-in-class, wide-ranging capabilities.”
